Purple Plum Blossom:
The plum blossom is the national flower of China and it represents purity, strength, and courage. Similarly in Japan, it is a traditional symbol of resilience and fortitude. In Japan, the plum blossom blooms before all other flowers, often before the snow has melted.

Buddha:
The cover paper of this journal is printed with images of the Buddha. The word Buddha evolved from the word budh, which means "to wake up”. The Buddha figures are shown meditating while seated in a classic lotus position, with hands resting in the lap.
